Despair and Joy

Rain drops are like a reflection
Of the years I've lived
And all that I have missed in my life.

I was closing my eyes as a child
With a wish to see the sunlight
But when I opened them I was an old man
Standing at the edge of life

Just a rain drop from my eyes
Will tell you all that was lost and once loved
Time has passed and all around me has changed
The home I grew up in
Now is just ruins of dust and memories
Like the apple tree my mother used to sit
When I was in her arms
Sound asleep
Feeling safe as the time continued to flow

I never knew my father
But it was his strong arms that build a place
I could call my home
Seasons change and life goes on

Yet it's interesting how short
Is the time we are here
I lived, I cried and I laugh
Together with my loved ones

Now it's just me who remains
To tell the tales of past like it was just yesterday
How sad that with me will die the time
And it will grow into a legend told by many
Yet no-one has seen it trough my eyes
Seen my joy, seen my sadness and despair...
