To not kill a beautiful butterfly

Open your hands
In a slow motion
To not kill the beautiful butterfly
You found
Next to a heavenly stream
By the gates to Eden
On the day we both met.

For me it has been centuries ago
When I last saw her cloudy gray eyes
And a curious smile
Which would turn into a terror
If only she knew
I could change her faith
With just a snap of my fingers.

But for an innocent human soul
It's just a second
Where you don't even know
Who I am
And who we where for each other.
Yet I still find you the pretties being
I've ever encountered

Its so funny that they say
An angel is to cruel to ever fall in love
But now I finally understand
It's not love but obsession
With what I can not have.

Why would anybody punish and angel
That you must ask the Gods
Who could not stand that a mear human
Had what they would never have.

But I did not care
About my selfish makers
And their corrupted love.

So to hurt me
Instead they made her suffer
For centuries
Losing the only love she ever had
Over and over again with each life time.

All I could was watch her
To ease her pain in lonely dreams
Where just for a moment we could
Have been together
Before the rays of daylight
Steal her away from my warm embrace.

But before that happens
I whisper silently
In hopes she could hear me
So her day would not be so sad.
'Wait for me my beautiful butterfly just a bit more
I will come and take you away from this world'

I wonder if she knows who I am?
